Language Arts - Week of August 13-17, 2007
Monday – Introduce and Tell about me. Students will begin packet of worksheets which includes All About Me Collage. Extended homeroom – model classroom procedures & rules. Issue textbooks, lockers and paperwork to be completed by parents. School tour by Mr. Manguso.
Homework – Have all paperwork completed and signed by parents to be returned by tomorrow.
Tuesday – Review and model classroom procedures & rules. Continue with All About Me Collage.
Homework – Have all paperwork signed and returned tomorrow.
Wednesday – Review classroom procedures and rules, have students model. Continue with All About Me Collage and begin to illustrate. Enriched Language Arts will work in groups of two to complete a venn diagram comparing and contrasting interest, hobbies, likes and dislikes of their partner. (6.2.1.)

Thursday – Review classroom procedures & rules for quiz on Monday.
Grammar - Pretest in Reading/Vocabulary.
Homework – Last day to have all paperwork completed, signed and returned to school tomorrow.
Friday – Final day to review classroom procedures & rules for quiz on Monday. Complete Pretest from yesterday. In Enriched Language Arts - Finish & share with classmates the student venn diagram from yesterday. Language Arts - Writing - Begin a writing assignment with a web (graphic organizer) about what I you are looking forward to in 6th grade. Using the web, students will begin writing a paragraph aboug what they are looking forward to in 6th grade. Students will present their paragraphs to the class. (6.2.1.) (6.3.4.)
