Tuesday – LOGIC and Enrichment with Mrs. Triplett and Mrs. Beauford.  Writing -  Discuss proofreading marks. Writing – Complete a t-chart for 5-paragraph essay.

Wednesday - Complete an activity on point of view, opinions, dialect and characters.  Review vocabulary words from Chapters 4 – 7 using context clues.  Distinguish the difference between predictions, facts and inferences in context. Writing - Review a t-chart for 5-paragraph essay. Begin writing rough draft of 5-paragraph essay.  (6.1.6) (6.1.10) (6.1.15) (6.1.17)
Homework – Writing – Rough draft is due on Friday.

Thursday – Review sequence of events to summarize Chapters 1 - 6 and vocabulary words and definitions from Chapters 4 – 7.  Read and discuss Chapter 6 of The Cay.  Complete practice on cause and effect. Complete a foldable illustrating the literary elements of The Cay.  (6.1.10) (6.1.16) (6.1.21)
