Wednesday – Discuss Chapter 9 and possible theme, conflicts (internal and external).  Illustrate and discuss the definitions of the vocabulary words from Chapters 8 – 10 of The Cay.  Writing – Edit paragraph using proofreading marks (6.1.10) (6.1.21) (6.2.1) (6.3.4)

Thursday – Review vocabulary words and definitions.  Discuss the difference between similes and metaphors.  Assign simile illustrations. Grammar – Discuss Adjectives used as Articles (a, an, the) and Proper Adjectives, page 332 – 335.  Complete Exercise 3 page 333, Using Indefinite Adjectives, and Exercise 4 page 334, Identifying Proper Adjectives.  Writing – Edit paragraph using proofreading marks.  (6.1.10) (6.1.21) (6.3.4)

Friday – Review sequence of events from Chapters 1 – 9 from The Cay. Review vocabulary words and definitions.  Grammar – Describe the two main characters from The Cay, Phillip and Timothy, using Adjectives.  Writing – Quiz on editing paragraphs using proofreading marks.
