Wednesday – Shortened class due to the TCAP Writing Assessment. Discuss tone and the elements of an ode. Introduce and give the definitions for the Spanish words in the poem. Read “Ode to Mi Gato” page 635 – 637. Identify examples of similes, metaphors, alliteration, onomatopoeia, personification, sensory details, and vivid verbs in the ode.
