Tuesday – Logic and Enrichment with Mrs. Triplett and Mrs. Beauford.                                                          Grammar – Complete Exercises 6, 7, and 11. (6.3.4) and(6.3.4)                                                                               Homework – Read “The Bracelet” page 149. Grammar - Complete workbook pages 123-124.

Wednesday – Complete a comprehensive quiz on “The Bracelet.” Define vocabulary words using context clues (enormous, concentration camp, interned, aliens, forsaken, evacuated, telegram citizens, shabby, thrust). (6.1.10) (6.1.21). Review the vocabulary words, predictions, first person point of view, and figurative language used in the story. Examine the personality of the main character. Create a character map analyzing Laurie’s character (Holt Reader page 70). Include Laurie’s words, actions, and Ruri’s description of Laurie. Complete the Reading Check on page 156. Grammar – Discuss Troublesome Modifiers – Good/Well, Bad/Badly, pages 546 – 548. Complete Exercise 15 page 547, Using Bad and Badly, and Exercise 16 page 548, Using Good and Well. (6.3.4)

Working in cooperative groups, students will create a collage using advertisements from magazines demonstrating various propaganda techniques. (6.1.27)
Grammar – Complete Exercise 17 page 548, Revising Sentences with Troublesome Modifiers, and Exercise 20 page 549, Using Troublesome Modifiers.
Homework – Comprehension test and vocabulary test on “The Bracelet” tomorrow

Friday – Listen to “The Bracelet” before completing the comprehension test. Complete a vocabulary test on the words from “The Bracelet.”
Working in cooperative groups, students will create a collage using advertisements from magazines demonstrating various propaganda techniques. (6.1.27)
