Language Arts - Week of March 10-14, 2008
Monday - Complete the Skills Practice Short Story Map on the story, “La Bamba” on page 130 of the Holt Reader with a partner. Sequencing - What Happened When? Activity: Given 10 events from “La Bamba”, students will number events in correct sequence or chronological order and illustrate them for their flipbook. (6.3.4) (6.1.21)
Grammar - Complete workbook pages 131 – 132, Bad and Badly, and pages 133 – 134, Good and Well. (6.3.4)
Homework – None
Tuesday – Students will be assessed over Troublesome Modifiers, bad, badly, good and well. Continue working on sequencing book from “La Bamba.” Review vocabulary words and definitions from “La Bamba.” (6.3.4) (6.1.21)
Grammar - Check Exercise 20 page 549 and Exercise 28 page 550 – 551, Troublesome Modifiers. (6.3.4)
Homework – None
Wednesday – Listen to “La Bamba” before completing a comprehension test. Review vocabulary words by playing Family Feud in two groups. Continue working on the sequencing book. (6.1.21)
Homework – “La Bamba” spelling and vocabulary test on Friday.
Thursday - THINK LINK TEST – Students will take the 3rd and final THINK LINK TEST for this school year. This test is based on the skills taught through the end of 6th grade, and it will show us what skills we must focus on before the TCAP Test. Individual student scores will be sent home after Spring Break.
Homework – One more day before Spring Break begins!!!!
Friday - Discuss the questions and answers to the THINK LINK TEST. Complete sequencing book of “La Bamba”. Share ideas with the class.
