Geography Dictionary Project

GEOGRAPHICAL DICTIONARY PROJECT

Your first project will be to create a geographical dictionary.

Supplies that you will need is one large piece of manilla paper and your art
supplies.

You will be given 2 days in class to work on the dictionary. The due date is Wednesday, September 12th. If it is late, I will deduct 10 points for each day that it is late.

Use pages A20 and A21 in your book as a reference. Pick 25 words to define. Pick the ones you do NOT know what they mean or some that you have difficulty remembering. Remember, a dictionary is arranged in alphabetical order.

The first page of the dictionary should include your name, date, class period and assignment. (10 points)

For each word, you should draw a picture that represents the word. It should be colored. You may cut pictures out of a magazine, you may get them off of the Internet, or you may draw them yourself. (1 point each)

Beneath each picture, you should define the word in a complete sentence. This should be your own definition not the one from the textbook. (1 point each)

You should also have an example of the word. Example: Panama is an isthmus that connects North and South America. (1 point each)

Neatness and following directions (15 points)
